Filipinos’ attention was focused on Paolo when he started his hobby in make-up transformation in 2014 and so he can show people his artisticness that they inherited from his grandfather. What could be the reason why Paolo Ballesteros was called the master of makeup transformation? Why did so many foreigners impress with him when he attended a prehistoric 29th Tokyo International Film Festival?
At first, he surprised his friends in Eat Bulaga after he performed his first masterpiece like international artist Angelina Jolie. According to Paolo, it's easy to copy her face with his make up. This is also what he decided to copy when he walked on the long red carpet at the 29th Tokyo International Film Festival. Many foreigners were surprised by his transformation that many almost believed that Angelina Jolie was almost like him. Paolo Ballesteros was attended the event because of their movie Die Beautiful which was one of the nominees in the prehistoric movie and acting award.
He said he didn't think that he will get the best actor award so even though he's wearing makeup like Julia Roberts's face, he's happy to accept the said honor as Paolo Ballesteros. Paolo's short speech was funny at first but he didn’t hide his side of being emotional. He is deeply grateful to the people behind the film especially to their director Direk Jun Lana for trusting Tricia's character in the film for him. Paolo told in his interview with Jessica Soho that Tricia in the movie “Die Beautiful” is a transgender whose dying wish is to be Katy Perry in her wake. Tricia is also a beauty pageant contestant. She's beautiful but she's weak in question and answer that's why she often loses. But when the main character finally won the pageant, she died. And because of that, her friends fulfilled her dying wish so every night her make-up is different until her Katy Perry is buried.
In the movie, Tricia has a child who is not far from the reality that Paolo Ballesteros also has a child so it's easy for him to internalize his role according to his director. According to Paolo, he salutes the gays who join contests repeatedly even if they lose and they still do it to fulfill their dreams and inspirations
